Las Vegas is home to an impressive collection of fine restaurants. While many are located on the Strip, there’s also a burgeoning community of chefs and culinary pros off the Strip who keep the city’s food scene interesting.

French cuisine is a large presence in the fine dining scene in Las Vegas – which is not surprising considering that cuisine’s influence on gourmet food. Each restaurant, however, has its own interpretation of French cuisine.

Dinner at Joel Robuchon, for instance, is an experience to plan for that will probably be one of the most expensive meals you’ll ever enjoy. Their fine French cuisine is served in an opulent room designed to seat a small number of fortunate diners. The 16-course degustation menu is the ultimate epicurean splurge.

If you’d like some non-French choices in fine dining, Las Vegas certainly has options for you. Inside the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Jose Andres’ é takes Spanish food to the next level in an intimate dining experience for only eight guests. American food is the star at Top of the World atop the Strat, where the steak and lobster comes with a birds-eye view of the city.

Top of the World

One of Las Vegas’ most unforgettable restaurants, Top of the World takes your meal to new heights. Located over 800 feet above the Strip, it’s the only revolving restaurant in Las Vegas. Top of the World gives its guests breathtaking views of the city, plus a menu full of memorable cuisine. Partage

Partage describes itself as a modern French dining experience, and its menu and sophisticated ambiance validate that description. Tasting menus are offered with three, five, seven or eight courses. A small dish/tasting portion menu offers plates the table can share, like the marinated salmon with miso and honey wrapped in feuille de brick (a pastry dough), black garlic, eggplant paste and shaved zucchini or braised octopus with pan seared potatoes, garlic and fennel compote. A la carte dishes are intended to be shared between two or three people. Selections include Karabuto Snake River pork, whole fish or lobster or an 18-ounce rib eye. Desserts are made daily. A full selection of wine and unique cocktails are also available.

Americana Las Vegas

Americana Las Vegas is located off the Strip, overlooking small Lake Jacqueline in the Desert Shores community. The serene ambiance feels worlds away from the Strip, although it’s only about a 20 minute drive. In addition to dinner, lunch and Sunday brunch menus, Americana also offers a five-course tasting menu and the Weekly Harvest menu featuring seasonal dishes. For dinner, start off your meal with something like oysters, charred Spanish octopus or foie gras mousse with kumquat jam, coconut and brioche. Choose from entrees like the oven roasted steelhead salmon with pickled beets, creme fraiche croquettes and black garlic or the All Day Braised Short Rib with butternut squash, pearl onions and broccolini.

Yui Edomae Sushi

Yui Edomae Sushi is located in the thriving restaurant community that’s grown in Chinatown, which has spread outward from its original center along Spring Mountain Road. Yui Edomae is focused on traditional Japanese Omotenashi service, which embodies a culture of guest-centered hospitality. The restaurant is also certified with the Japanese Food and Ingredient Supporters group, which requires restaurants to use a preponderance of Japanese food and alcoholic beverages. Menu highlights include Kansha, or the superior omakase course, with Kanpai Champagne, a premium appetizer, Owan soup, a sashimi platter, a charcoal grilled platter, nigiri, handroll and dessert (for $210) as well as two other omakase courses. The sushi list is as impressive as you would expect. Simple, yet extravagant at the same time, a meal here is an experience to be savored.

Restaurant Guy Savoy

Noted Chef Guy Savoy has his only United States restaurant in Las Vegas, the appropriately named Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace. Recipient of several culinary awards and accolades, the chef’s Las Vegas restaurant is a must-do destination for many food enthusiasts. The decor is tastefully understated but the menu is full of indulgent offerings. A la carte and tasting menus are offered. Noted dishes include the chef’s signature artichoke and black truffle soup and the foie gras. Look for selections like the Dungeness Crab and Caviar, American Wagyu beef rib cap and braised short rib or Muscovy roasted duck breast with confit leg.

Noted Chef Jose Andres is at the helm of a few successful restaurants in Las Vegas, but his intimate, eight-seat restaurant, é, located inside Jaleo, offers a rare epicurean experience. The amazing and extensive tasting menu is filled with dishes unlike anything you’ve had (or seen) before. Think edible trees, or foie gras and jam that looks like a PB&J. The dishes can be whimsical, but are always bursting with incredible flavors. Chef Andres combines Spanish food with inventive techniques popularly known as molecular gastronomy (although Chef Andres is famously opposed to that term) to create the memorable dishes. An evening at é doesn’t come cheaply, so plan on spending at least $250 per person, before drinks and other fees. The two-hour seatings are offered twice nightly every evening except Monday.

Recommended for Fine Dining because: The intimate fine dining experience at é showcases inventive culinary creations you won’t find anywhere else.

Le Cirque

Le Cirque has become a Las Vegas classic, offering diners a menu of classic and contemporary French food. Guests can choose from several menus: dégustation, pre-theatre, prix-fixe or vegetarian. Look for dishes like Maryland Blue Crab, prime beef tenderloin steak tartare, lobster and avocado salad with black truffle vinaigrette and sauteed foie gras. The Menu Prestige is intended for the entire table. This 10-course meal is includes a wide array of exquisite dishes and is the restaurant’s most expensive menu at $350 per person. Picasso

Executive Chef Julian Serrano’s menu at Picasso is inspired by the regional cuisine of France and Spain, where Pablo Picasso spent much of his life. Serrano’s impeccable cuisine is on display throughout the menu, which might include dishes like a warm quail salad with artichokes and pine nuts, roasted Maine lobster, tuna tartare, or medallions of deer with caramelized blood orange. The wine cellar is stocked with more than 1,500 selections, so you’ll certainly find a wine that pairs perfectly with your meal. The dining room is adorned with Picasso’s work, and also gives diners a view of the Bellagio’s fountains. Picasso offers several menus for diners to choose from, including pre-theater, prix fixe, seasonal truffle, vegetarian and degustation, plus a tempting dessert menu full of sweets.
